Yoga is Importance for self concentration

The word Yoga is derived from the root ‘Yuja” which means to join. In our way of like, the embodied spirit jivatma is a part of universal spirit ‘parmatma and is made to become one with universal spirit by certain physical and mental exercises. Some scholars have defined Yoga as ‘self concentration’ with a view to see the soul as it looks when it is abstracted from mind and matter. Patanjali describes Yoga as suppression of thought. Here thought doesn’t mean a narrower sense of reflection, but should be taken to mean consciousness which includes sensibility, imagination and dreams.

Yoga is a science which raises capacity of human mind to respond to higher vibrations and to perceive, catch and assimilate infinite conscious movements going on around us in the universe. Yoga enables a man to become a transmitting and receiving station to radio activity. With mind as serial, one can catch and receive unspoken thoughts of others from any distance. All miracles performed by long line of saints, sages of all times were due to this, the grandest of all sciences. So Yoga ultimately means the disunion or separation from sense objects and union of mind with soul. This science leads to initiation by easy gradation to loftiest heights of self realization where he stands face to face with the objects of his search i.e. God.
